has been good. Monday my class (Manufacturing Knowledge) was cancelled, so I just had work and track. Work is the same old same old, four 30-50 year old guys squabbling and being snarky. I love it! Track is going well, I feel like I'm getting worse instead of better, but I'm having fun. Shannon and I were play fighting (well play her beating me up) and she accidentally clocked me in the nose. There were tears streaming down my face, but I've never been punched before, so all I could do was laugh. I think the coach thinks we are nut jobs - the rugger and the hockey player trying to do a non-contact sport? No.

Tuesday was Practising Sociology, where we talk about MHC traditions with the most amazing, brilliant, talented, incredible person in the world. Ahhhh. And it's not a seminar, so I have it twice a week. And she's my adviser. And my thesis/independent study adviser. Ahhhhh. Today she asked if she could be a MoHo and was outraged that M&Cs are locked away when it's not 9:30-10:00. We spent an hour talking about M&Cs. Yup. I love this class - all I want to do is talk about Mount Holyoke, and once my independent/thesis starts up, I get to do it even more! With Eleanor! Ahhhh.

Wednesday was the sex class. Bodily Desires - we already covered masturbation and are moving on to hermaphrodites. Our teacher is a cute little lesbian who says things like "Don't assume I'm straight because I'm married" and "My mom caught me masturbating and said I looked like a monkey." She's way awkward but she warmed up by the end of the class.

Rugby is amazing, as usual. I love track, but getting to do a sport with all my favorite people is so much better. We're getting in mad good shape and play the best sport on earth, what more could you want? We scrimmaged tonight in preparation for Balls to the Walls...so excited! Although I can't go if any of the sprinters get hurt, since I'm an alternate for the 4x200 relay that weekend. It's a big deal, Div IIIs, but I don't want to have to be in the relay! Eeeeee. And I want to go play rugby that day, as much as I want to support my trackies.

This afternoon I had my phone "interview" (ie they I think had already given me the job) for LeadAmerica. If I accept, I'll be an RA for 12-16 middle school and high school hard of hearing kids at "Leadership University" camp in Washington DC. It's five 6-day conferences teaching leadership, planning and confidence skills. It's at a college for the deaf and hard of hearing, so it's aimed at people with hearing problems. It's all of June and July, they provide room and board, a damn good stipend per week, and will fly me to and from DC. Pretty sweet, right? Except I have to accept within the next two weeks, and the internships I want I can't even send the apps in yet, and the super-duper one at the Library of Congress isn't even due until May 15, so I won't hear forever. I'm gonna call around tomorrow and explain the situation to them. I'm just worried that since the programs are so competitive (National Archives, the Smithsonian, etc) that I won't get in and then I'm fucked for the summer again. Arg. I really need a good internship this summer, at a library or archives or something to help with that whole grad school thing, but I wouldn't mind doing LeadAmerica either. I guess.

Tonight was pretty much a perfect evening. After track, I read about hermaphrodites for 2 hours, played rugby for an hour and a half, went to Bridget's room to get rugby stuff and chat, had a nice long walk and talk with Lisa, went to Blanch and chatted up the cute cook / had the most amazing dinner ever (grilled mushrooms, Gouda cheese and red peppers), and spent a few hours in Wilder saying goodbye to Vanessa and hanging out with a bunch of fun people.

Tomorrow: cover letters and calling important people and making them work with my schedule. Hopefully.

Spending the summer at Gallaudet would be kind of cool though. I took this ASL class (which is a long story in itself), and all the profs in the program had gone there--it's like its own little world.

Although, the Library of Congress is the Library of Congress.

Right on both counts...at least I'll be in DC whatever happens, which is exciting.
